Readers & Writers Festival Update

HOTELS, restaurants, wineries, the community resource centre, the cultural centre, TAFE, bookshops, the visitor centre and the library are just some of the locations and businesses participating in the up and coming Margaret River readers and writers festival. This year so many more businesses have come on board to participate in this festival in one way or another. We have author talks at Swings Taphouse and Sea Gardens, workshops in the Community Resource Centre and Margaret River Library, tickets being sold for the first time through the visitor centre, TAFE students cooking for us, the list just goes on and on. We are also fortunate enough to have the tourist association’s support in putting a huge sign outside their premises, selling tickets and handing out programs for us. We also have local businesses from the soup kitchen to wineries handing out our programs and generously donating money and goods to help promote our festival. Tickets are selling steadily so don’t leave it to the last minute to secure your spot with a favourite author. For the first time this year you are also able to purchase tickets to individual events if you are not able to attend the whole weekend. Don’t forget to pre-book your Saturday Gourmet Soup lunch for only $15. This delicious soup is provided by Dave Seegar’s Soup Kitchen and will only go ahead if there is enough interest. Book online or call the office on 9758 7316. Free bus from Augusta to Margaret River for the Friday 16 May Geneological Workshops. Please book your seat asap if you want to use this service.
