Symphony in the City

Celebrating 10 Years: Free Outdoor Concert and Regional Broadcast

Saturday 10 December 7.30pm

City of Perth Symphony in the City is a free outdoor concert in Langley Park, featuring the West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO), and broadcast live to regional venues and gatherings across Western Australia.

Now in its 10th year, this community event will attract 20,000 picnic-goers to an open-air setting, where they can enjoy well known classics and film music with an explosive finale of fireworks.
After conducting the very first Symphony in the City back in 2007, Guy Noble will return to lead the orchestra, WASO Chorus and various soloists in this performance. Audiences can expect music from Star Wars, Bizet’s Carmen, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Offenbach’s Barcarolle, Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture and much more. For the first time, the event will feature a collaborative Welcome to Country titled Kolbang Djin, performed by students from the Boodjar Bidi Dance group, the Guildford Grammar School String Ensemble and WASO musicians.

Streamed live to the Margaret River Cultural Centre. FREE ENTRY.
