Visual Stories Art Exhibition and Competition

The 2016 Visual Stories Art Competition and Exhibition will tie more closely with the theme and literary feel of the Margaret River Readers and Writers Festival than ever before with all art having to feature some aspect of books.
Artists are required to integrate the Festival theme HOME into their artwork.
What is Home, Is it a place? A state of mind? A person? Is it where the heart is?

In keeping with the writers festival theme all artwork must be made from, or include Repurposed books.
The festival committee is excited that the exhibition run over the festival weekend and throughout the month of June, and add to the literary feel of the event by decorating the foyer and hallways with book-related art.
Book art is a growing medium throughout the world with several galleries and many publications devoted to the form. Having this kind of art for sale throughout the festival is an additional drawcard for book lovers.
Sculpture will also be permitted and the competition is open to all artists throughout Western Australia.
Closing date for entries is Friday, April 30, with a maximum of 80 entries accepted.
Entry fee: $20
Exhibition date: June 3-30, 2016
The exhibition opening and presentation night is part of the Margaret River Readers and Writers Festival Launch Friday, June 3, 6.30pm at the Margaret River Cultural Centre.
